Club Policies

This policy is designed to provide clarity to employees, stakeholders, supporters and everyone connected with Hamilton Academical Football Club Limited (“The Club”) (Hamilton Accies) on the Club’s attitude to issues of racial harassment and abuse. It is further designed to promote good relations between persons of different ethnic or national groups and to preserve the good name of Hamilton Accies.

1. The Club condemns racism in any form, either on or off the pitch. The Club aims to create and maintain a working and spectating environment free from racial harassment and abuse. Everyone connected with the Club has a responsibility to prevent racial harassment or abuse.

2. A racist incident is defined by the Club as any incident that is perceived to be racist by the victim, or any other person. Racial harassment is defined by the Club to be any verbal, physical, written or visible abuse that is based on a person’s race, ethnic background, colour, nationality, language or cultural background – and is considered to be unwanted, unacceptable and offensive to the person.

3. Proven racial harassment or abuse will lead to action being taken against employees. Similarly, such behaviour by a spectator will be reported to the police and may result in a life ban from the Club. The Club will give their full support to the police in any criminal actions.

4. All employees have a responsibility to make it clear that such behaviour by anyone connected with the Club is unacceptable.

5. Line managers are required to investigate and produce a written report of all cases of reported racial harassment. This report must be provided to the Chief Executive for consideration by the Board of Directors. Thereafter, the Club may decide to attempt to resolve the issue informally, through mediation and/or in confidence.

6. Should the Club decide to deal with the issue on a formal basis, the employee making the allegations should provide a written statement. The person(s) complained about should be offered the opportunity of providing a verbal or written statement. They should also be advised to seek legal advice at their own expense, or use the services of their trade union.

7. Any employee found guilty of racially harassing another employee, or any other person, is liable to disciplinary action. The normal disciplinary process will apply. Depending on the circumstances, consideration will be given to reporting the matter to the police.

8. Supporters will also be informed on a regular basis that racist taunts and abusive or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated by the Club and will be encouraged to condemn and report such behaviour.

9. Any supporters (home or visiting) behaving in this way will be detained by stewards, passed to the police and may be arrested. Season ticket holders detained for such a reason, face having their season ticket revoked and all spectators detained in this way face a life ban from the stadium.

1. The Club’s policy is not to discriminate or in any way treat anyone less favourably, on grounds of gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion or disability. The Club will not tolerate any such discrimination in any of the Club’s activities.

2. The Club will apply this policy when 1) advertising for and selecting applicants for employment; 2) seeking volunteers; 3) running courses; 4) running external coaching, educational activities and award schemes; 5) promoting football development activities; 6) selecting teams; and 7) considering appointments.

3. The Club will not tolerate racist, sectarian, sexual or bigoted harassment or other discriminatory behaviour, whether physical or verbal, and will work to ensure that such behaviour is met with appropriate action in whatever context it occurs.

4. The Club is committed to the development of the programme of ongoing training and awareness raising events and activities, in order to promote the eradication of discrimination within its own organisation, and within football as a whole.

5. The Club gives a commitment to ensure that it is open to all and that team selection policy will be the footballing ability and character of the individual, together with the collective balance of the team.

6. Each player and employee contract will include a clause stating that the Club is opposed to racism, sectarianism, bigotry and discrimination in any form and that the player or employee shares these principles and gives a commitment to uphold and promote these standards.

The New Law

The Smoking, Health & Social Care (Scotland) Act 2005 and The Prohibition of Smoking in Certain Places (Scotland) Regulations 2006 came into effect on 26th March 2006 in an effort to improve public health in Scotland. Smoking is no longer permitted in enclosed public spaces. This building is one of over 9000 premises in South Lanarkshire affected by the ban. All internal stadium areas are covered, as is the complete seating area externally.


It is the policy of Hamilton Academical Football Club and all stadium operators and businesses that all of our workplaces are smoke-free and all employees have a right to work in a smoke free environment. The Policy came into effect at 6.00am on Sunday 26th March 2006 and will be reviewed periodically.


Smoking is prohibited throughout the entire workplace and stadium with no exceptions. This includes Company Vehicles. This Policy applies to ALL employees, consultants, contractors, customers and visitors. No special provision will be made, anyone wishing to smoke must do so in the Car Park and at least 9 metres from the Main Door. Following consultation with representatives from South Lanarkshire Council and Police Scotland, the Policy will be applied to ALL football matches. In terms of the legislation, and for the avoidance of doubt, persons will NOT be permitted to exit the stadium then re-enter in order to smoke. For the avoidance of doubt ‘e-cigs’ or similar are also prohibited in or around the stadium.


Overall responsibility for policy implementation and review rests with Stadium and Football Club Management. All staff are obliged to adhere to and facilitate the implementation of the policy.


Disciplinary Procedures will be followed if any member of staff does not comply with this policy. Those who do not comply with the smoking law are also liable to a fixed penalty fine and possible criminal prosecution.

Under the rules and regulations of the SPFL, and the SFA, the club is obliged to indicate examples of unacceptable conduct and to inform spectators of this and the consequences for them and the club of engaging in any form of unacceptable conduct when attending football matches generally, and here at New Douglas Park in particular. A person present at or in a stadium where an official match is being played engages in Unacceptable Conduct where their conduct is violent and / or disorderly.

Conduct is violent where there is (i) actual, attempted or threatened physical violence against a person or persons; or (ii) intentional damage to property. Disorderly conduct includes (i) conduct which stirs up or sustains or is likely or designed to stir up or sustain, hatred or ill will against or towards a group of persons based on their membership or presumed membership of a group or against an individual who is or is presumed to be a member of such a group; (ii) using threatening, abusive or insulting words or conduct; (iii) displaying any writing or other thing which is threatening, abusive or insulting; and, (iv) using words or conduct or displaying any writing or other thing which indicates support for, or affiliation to, or celebration of, or opposition to an organisation or group proscribed in terms of the Terrorism Act 2000. – such group categories referred to are – male or female; colour, race, nationality (including citizenship) or ethnic or national origin; membership of a religious group or of a social or cultural group with a perceived religious affiliation; sexual orientation; transgender identity; and disability.

The home club must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that its players, officials, supporters and any person exercising a function for or connected with the club do not engage in Unacceptable Conduct at a stadium on the occasion of an official match. Any failure by a club to discharge a requirement to which it is subject by virtue of these rules, shall constitute a breach of these rules. Proceedings in terms of the rules against a club can be instigated when the SPFL has received information from the Police; the Scottish FA acting on information received from a match official; any league representative attending the match; or from the other club involved in the match. The rules referred to above are SPFL Rules H25 – H39 inclusive of season 2022-23. The club will  act upon any information received by it from Police Scotland, which could indicate an arrest or conviction or football banning order, and this will result in the spectator concerned receiving a ban by the club, in addition to any other sanctions imposed by any other authorities. In addition any season ticket holders engaging in such behaviour, or guilty of barracking players and / or officials at any match, home or away, are likely to have their season ticket withdrawn without any recompense to the owner. Spectators are reminded that any form of flare, Bengal light or smoke emitting device are strictly prohibited under ground regulations. 


These are the expectations placed upon the club by the football authorities. All persons entering the ground for a match should be aware of these, the expectations upon the club, and the expectations upon those entering for compliance, good behaviour etc

Guidance by the Scottish Professional Football League Limited to Clubs on Unacceptable Conduct at a Stadium on the occasion of an Official Match in Terms of SPFL Rule H37.

Effective:- 1 January 2017.

SPFL Rules H33, H34 and H35 describe the responsibilities of Clubs in this area. They are included below for ease of reference. Capitalised words and phrases used in this Guidance have the meaning given to them in the 

SPFL Rules. The footnotes to the Guidance comprise part of the Guidance.


The Home Club in any Official Match must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable,


good order and security;


that policies and procedures have been adopted and are implemented to prevent incidents of Unacceptable

Conduct; and


that any incidents of Unacceptable Conduct are effectively dealt with, all at its Stadium on the occasion

of an Official Match


Each Club must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that:


its Players, officials, supporters and any person exercising a function for or connected with the Club do not engage in Unacceptable Conduct at a Stadium on the occasion of an Official Match;


it identifies any of its supporters who engage in Unacceptable Conduct at an Official Match; AND 


it takes proportionate disciplinary measures in respect of supporters so identified in terms of Rule H34.2.


Any failure by a Club to discharge a requirement to which it is subject by virtue of Rules H33 and/or H34 shall constitute a breach of these Rules.

The definition of what constitutes Unacceptable Conduct is provided at SPFL Rules H25 to


An Official Match is a match played in any Competition owned and operated by the SPFL.


The Scottish FA has its own Guidance applicable to the Scottish Cup.

SPFL Rule H33 applies to the Home Club in relation to any Official Match and SPFL Rule H34

applies to both the Home and Away Clubs in relation to any Official Match.

In considering any alleged failure to discharge the requirements of SPFL Rules H33 and/or

H34, which may constitute a breach in terms of SPFL Rule H35, a decision maker shall take

into account whether the Club concerned has complied with this Guidance.


In determining whether all reasonably practicable steps have been taken by a Home Club it is

recognised that stadium operations prior to and during an Official Match may be subject to

the control of a police match commander and decisions taken by other public authorities.


Whether to intervene in the case of an incident of Unacceptable Conduct during the course

of an Official Match may, depending on the match arrangements, be subject to determination 

by the police, and not necessarily by the Home Club.

In this Guidance a Club’s “Home Ground” is any stadium, including its Registered Ground, at

which it is the Home Club in an Official Match.

Each Club should:

Club Unacceptable Conduct Statements


Issue and publish a written statement in all forms of Club communication to its

supporters, including on any Club website, by email and by all forms of social media

used by the Club, that it condemns and will not tolerate any form of Unacceptable

Conduct by any person at Official Matches at its Home Ground and by or amongst its

supporters, Officials, Players and others connected with the Club at Away Matches 

(“the Statement”).




in the Statement notification that search procedures may be operated by the

Club at its Home Ground, that those entering its Home Ground are deemed to

have agreed to be subject to such search procedures and that items may be

confiscated during such a search if they are considered to fall within

paragraphs 6 and/or 7 of this Guidance;


in the Statement examples the type of behaviour considered to constitute engaging in and/or contributing to Unacceptable Behaviour; 


in the Statement examples of disciplinary sanctions(s) that the Club may take against those who are established by the Club to have engaged in and/or contributed to Unacceptable Conduct at an Official Match; and


the Statement in full in all match day programmes and similar Club publications, be posted in full in an easily accessible position on any Club website(s) and be referred to on Club social media messaging.


Display copies of the Statement permanently and prominently throughout, including at all entrances to, its Home Ground and replace any removed or defaced copies of the Statement before the next Official Match at that stadium.

Match Announcements


Make announcements over the stadium public address system at every Home first team Official Match and at every other Home Official Match at which the number of supporters present exceeds 250, condemning all forms of Unacceptable Conduct.

Ground Entry Conditions


In relation to all Official Matches, make it a condition of its Season and all match day tickets and its ground entry conditions and/or regulations that purchasers and holders of such tickets and all other entrants to its Home Ground:


must not engage in Unacceptable Conduct at an Official Match;


adhere to the ‘Fans’ Charter’ published by the Scottish FA at www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish_football.cfm?page=3441

and any amended or replacement version of that Charter; 



agree to be subject to being searched on seeking entry to and whilst in its Home Ground for any flag(s), banner(s) and the like which may contain offensive or otherwise unacceptable material and/or flares, fireworks, devices capable of emitting smoke or the like and/or any other object which may cause

or be part of Unacceptable Conduct and that any such item(s) brought into or attempted to be brought into its Home ground shall be liable to be confiscated.

Search and Confiscation


If it suspects that a person seeking entry to or within its Home Ground for an Official

Match may have in his/her possession any flag(s), banner(s) and the like which may

contain offensive or otherwise unacceptable material and/or flares, fireworks, devices

capable of emitting smoke or the like and/or any other object which may cause or be

part of any incident of Unacceptable Conduct then it shall require that person to be searched and shall search that person and confiscate and deliver to the police any such flag(s), banner(s) and the like which may contain offensive or otherwise unacceptable material and/or flares, fireworks, devices capable of emitting 

smoke or the like and/or any other object which may cause or be part of any incident of Unacceptable Conduct.


Advise all entrants to a stadium at which an Official Match is or will be played that any person having any such any flag(s), banner(s) and the like which may contain offensive or otherwise unacceptable material and/or flares, fireworks, devices capable of emitting smoke or the like and/or any other object which may cause or be part of any incident of Unacceptable Conduct on his person or any such person refusing to be

searched shall not be admitted to the ground and any Season book/ticket or ticket held by him/her shall be liable to be confiscated without compensation and he/she shall be liable to such other proportionate sanction as the Club may determine.

Collection and Sharing of Ticket Issue Information


For Official Matches for which tickets have been or shall be sold and/or issued by the Home Club and/or where the Home Club has issued tickets to the Visiting Club to sell and/or issue to the Visiting Club’s

supporters the:


Home Club shall, except where it is impracticable to do so in circumstances where a ticket is sold by the Home Club at an entrance to the stadium in the period immediately before an Official Match as part of a complete transaction without any form of pre-ordering and where the transaction allows immediate

entry to the stadium for a single match to the purchaser, record the names and addresses of all of those to whom it has sold and/or issued a ticket or tickets for any part of the stadium;


Home Club shall, when recording the names and addresses of all of those to whom a ticket or tickets for the Visiting support area(s) of its stadium for an Official Match are sold and/or issued by the Home Club, obtain consent to the disclosure of that information to the Visiting Club;


Home Club shall, if requested to do so by the Visiting Club, provide the names and addresses of those to whom it has sold and/or issued a ticket or tickets to a Visiting support area of its Home Ground for an Official Match;


Visiting Club shall, record the names and addresses of all those to whom tickets for a Visiting support area are sold and/or issued by the Visiting Club and shall obtain consent to the disclosure of that information to the Home Club;


Visiting Club shall, if requested to do so by the Home Club, provide to the Home Club the names and addresses of those to whom it has sold and/or issued a ticket or tickets for the relevant Official Match; and


Home Club and the Visiting Club shall, if requested to do so by the Company, each provide to the Company, where recorded, the names and addresses of all of those to whom each has sold and/or issued a ticket or tickets for any part of the stadium for an Official Match.

Internal Disciplinary Action


Take disciplinary action against any Official, Player or other employee or contractor of

the Club who engages in or contributes to Unacceptable Conduct at an Official Match.

Pre Match Information Sharing


Contact in advance of each Official Match at its Home Ground the Visiting Club against which it is scheduled to play such Official Match and any Match Delegate for such Official Match appointed by the League, to ensure that they each understand the Home Club’s policies and procedures regarding, to deal with and to prevent incidents of Unacceptable Conduct within its stadium. In the case of an Official Match in the

Premiership, such contact shall be by meeting in advance of such an Official Match.

Policies and Procedures


Develop, document, implement and communicate a strategy, policies and procedures to be followed at Official Matches at its Home Ground by its Officials, Players, ground safety and operations staff, stewards, police and Officials of Visiting Clubs for preventing and dealing with incidents of  Unacceptable Conduct; to include the identification of those who engage in such Conduct and, where reasonably practicable and supported by requisite evidence, the apprehension by police of such individuals within the stadium on the occasion of the Official Match or later where it is not reasonably practicable to undertake such apprehension within the stadium. 

Removal of Unacceptable Material from Grounds


As soon as reasonably practicable and, in any event, before the next Official Match at its Home Ground, remove from its Home Ground any and all graffiti, propaganda or the like which constitutes, encourages or promotes Unacceptable Conduct.

Development of Programmes


Develop proactive programmes and make progress towards raising awareness of the prevention and, where present, elimination of Unacceptable Conduct in stadia in which Official Matches take place; in conjunction with, amongst others, supporters, schools, voluntary organisations, local authorities, local businesses, sponsors, police, players, Officials and players’ representatives. 

Annual Report


Within two months of the last day of each Season make a written report to the Secretary including:


all such programmes operated by the Club and the progress made with such programmes since the last such



the measures taken by the Club to prevent and, where present, eliminate in stadia within which Official Matches take place Unacceptable Conduct;


a summary of the number and type of incidents of Unacceptable Conduct: (a) at its Home Ground and (b) involving its Officials, Players and supporters at

Away Grounds;


details of all identifications made and disciplinary actions taken against its players, Officials, supporters and others in connection with and arising out of incidents of Unacceptable Conduct at Official Matches; and


a copy of the Statement of the Club concerned for the next Season.

Incidents of Unacceptable Conduct


Bring any Unacceptable Conduct during an Official Match at its Home Ground to the immediate attention of:


any police match commander or his nominee; and


to the Club’s safety officer or other Official having control of the stadium.


Take all reasonably practicable steps, including by the involvement of spectators, supporters groups, stewards, police, players, Officials and others, to identify those who engage in and/or contribute to Unacceptable Conduct at an Official Match.

CCTV Systems and Retention of Data


If it is a Club entitled for the time being to participate in the Premiership, install and fully utilise at every Official Match at which it is the Home Club an efficient and effective CCTV system capable of identifying, recording and retaining the facial image of persons engaging in Unacceptable Conduct within the areas of its Home Ground where the Match may be viewed and at other locations within the stadium to which

spectators have access.


Record and retain all moving and still images and audio recordings of spectators and Officials taken and/or made by or on behalf of a Club relating to or concerning an Official Match until the later of:


not less than [14] clear days have elapsed after the relevant Official Match; and


where the Company has notified a Club in writing that there is or may be an investigation by the Company regarding Unacceptable Conduct at an Official Match, the Company has given written permission for such recordings not to be so retained.

Investigation and Reporting of Incidents of Unacceptable Conduct


Where it has any evidence or information that they may have been Unacceptable Conduct at an Official Match in which any one or more of its Officials, Players, supporters or others engaged or contributed to, except to the extent that it would be unlawful for the Club concerned, expeditiously:


investigate such alleged engagement and/or contribution on the part any one or more of its Officials, Players, supporters or others connected with the Club;


impose disciplinary action/sanctions, as set out in paragraphs 9 and 21 of this Guidance, on those established to have so engaged and/or contributed to such Unacceptable Conduct; and


report in writing to the Secretary, the details of all incidents of Unacceptable Conduct in which any of its Officials, Players, supporters and others connected with the Club have been engaged and/or have contributed to, the investigation carried out, the identity of those identified as having engaged in and/or contributed to such Unacceptable Conduct and the disciplinary action taken against those established to have so engaged and/or contributed.


Fully liaise with the police so as to assist any police investigations into an incident which may involve criminal conduct at an Official Match and seek to obtain from the police any evidence in the possession of the police which may assist a Club investigation, a Company investigation and/or the identification and disciplining bythe Club of an Official, Player, other employee, contractor or supporter of the Club who has engaged in and/or contributed to Unacceptable Conduct at an Official Match.

Sanctions for Unacceptable Conduct


Apply proportionate sanction(s) against a supporter or person exercising a function for or connected with that Club (other than as an Official, Player or other employee or contractor of the Club, each of whom are to be dealt with in terms of paragraph 9 above) who engages in Unacceptable Conduct at an Official Match and who has been, or is reasonably capable of being, identified. The range of such sanctions should include exclusion from the Home Ground of the Club concerned, exclusion from all forms of Club organised and/or supported travel and/or the confiscation, without compensation, of any Season book/ticket(s) held by such person for a period or periods of time or indefinitely and/or the exclusion from being able to purchase or

otherwise acquire tickets for Away Matches which may be sold or otherwise distributed by the Club concerned.

Club Records


Keep a written record, a copy of which should be promptly made available to the Secretary on request, of all requests made by the Club for police assistance and/or police intervention in relation to incidents of Unacceptable Conduct at its Home Ground at Official Matches and the response of the police to such

request(s) and of all Club investigations regarding alleged Unacceptable Conduct and any disciplinary

action taken and/or sanctions imposed.

Club Charter


Hamilton Academical Football Club (Hamilton Accies)  recognises the special bond between the Club and its supporters. It recognises and respects the invaluable contribution the supporters make to the life of the Club.

As such, the Club makes every effort to ensure that its policies and practices are open, accessible and communicated as effectively as possible with its supporters.

The Club will conduct an annual review of its customer charter and associated activities, and make changes as appropriate in line with the guidance from relevant governing bodies. Documentary evidence of this shall be included in the Club’s audit submission.

1.1 Hamilton Accies continue to strive for wider access to matches by offering –

1.1.1 The Club offers a broad range of ticket prices. Customers buying more expensive seats or packages in hospitality enable us to charge other customers less for their tickets. From single match tickets and family oriented season tickets to corporate packages, a range of tickets are available. In season 2022-23 childrens season tickets are free

1.1.2 More than 50% of tickets to each game are made available to non-season ticket holders.

1.1.3 Concessions are available for supporters aged under 18 (as of 1st August 2023) and those over 65 years of age, and disabled supporters plus carers where appropriate. No seating offers a restricted view to supporters. (Our meaning of “restricted view” is where you have to move to gain an unrestricted view, or where one or both goals is completely blocked by a post.  Movement of the head to the side to gain a view is not considered a restricted view.)

1.1.4 Areas of the ground are made available for the exclusive use of family groups.

1.1.5 Support for disabled and visually impaired supporters and their carers. Our disability co-ordinator can be contacted at the stadium office on 01698 368650.

1.1.6 The Club offers reduced admission to restaging of abandoned games, depending upon time of abandonment. If a match is abandoned having kicked off you may be entitled to a refund of the cash admission charge paid at the turnstile in the determination of the Club/Event Organiser acting reasonably. Where a match is abandoned before the expiry of the first half admission vouchers for the rearranged fixture will be issued to those who attend the abandoned match. The issue of such vouchers in cases where the match is abandoned after the expiry of the first half shall be a matter for the reasonable discretion of the Club. Ticket stubs / vouchers issued upon entrance must be retained for potential use as above to any restaging. Complimentary tickets used to gain entry to a match which is later abandoned, are not valid for any restaging

1.2 Tickets for cup competitions are announced to supporters following discussions between the clubs. Away clubs will receive a minimum of 10 % of tickets, and normally the whole North Stand, and tickets for Cup matches, which are ‘all ticket’ are usually offered to season ticket holders, and then to the general public.

1.2.1 As a general rule, ticket refunds are only issued in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the club.


2.1 The Club does not charge admission prices to supporters of a visiting club which are higher than those charged to our own supporters for comparable accommodation. In particular, our concessionary match day rates offered to senior citizens and junior supporters apply to supporters of a visiting club. The Club also intends to offer tickets for away visually impaired fans at the same admission price and with the same facilities as home fans.

2.2 The Club abides by the SPFL and SFA rules governing the allocation of tickets to visiting clubs.


3.1 The Club offers additional Gold Hospitality season tickets which give access to the McArthur and McCarthy Suite.

3.2 The Club subject to demand, organises and escorts mascots for every home fixture.


4.1 The Club publicises its position on major policy issues in a concise format in the club match day programme, through the official club Internet website, and through press releases and where appropriate  Social Media platforms. It is recognised in post covid times, and with reduced demand, a match programme may not be produced for each home first team fixture

4.2 The Club is in regular consultation with shareholders, sponsors, the local authority, and other interested parties.

4.3 The Club gives the earliest possible notice of any changes to its ticketing policy and the reasons for the changes.

4.4 The Club will undertake research and consultation on the design and number of new strips.


5.1 The Club supports activity in both the local community and the wider football community.

5.1.1 The Club seeks to promote close links between the Club and its community and to introduce young people, male and female, to football as players and spectators.

5.2 The Club will support and work with outside agencies, especially disadvantaged groups (disabled, those suffering from addiction, ethnic minorities and the unemployed.)

5.3 Regarding anti-racism initiatives, the Club supports the aims of leading initiatives such as “Show Racism the Red Card” to tackle problems of racism in the game.

5.5 The Club supports local community and schools events that promote youth football and grass roots football.


6.1 Both home and away replica strip designs will normally have a life span of at least one or two seasons, unless changes are enforced due to contractual obligations.

6.2 The Club intends to communicate with its supporters regarding new replica strip designs.

6.3 Future details of the next intended change of kits will be made available from the club shop.

6.4 The Club carries out its obligations to prevent price fixing in relation to the sale of replica strips.

6.5 The Club offers refunds on merchandise in accordance with its legal obligations.

6.6 The Club will not knowingly buy goods from any supplier or manufacturer who does not comply fully with the labour, safety and other relevant laws of the countries of manufacture with respect to minimum wages, hours of work, overtime, sick pay and holiday entitlement.

Hamilton Academical Football Club (“the club”)

All employees, members of staff and volunteers are expected to abide by the legal requirements of The Equality Act 2010.

Specifically, discrimination is prohibited by:

nationality or ethnic or national origin, religion, sexual orientation or
disability, less favourably than others.

• Expecting an individual solely on the grounds stated above to comply with
requirements(s) for any reason whatsoever related to their employment or

Any employee, member of staff or volunteer found guilty of discrimination will be instructed to desist forthwith and will be dealt with under the club’s disciplinary procedures.

The club opposes all forms of unlawful or unfair discrimination on the grounds of disability. No applicant, employee, member of staff, volunteer shall receive less favourable treatment than others, because of disability.

The difficulties of their disability permitting, assistance will be provided, wherever possible, to ensure that disabled employees, members of staff or volunteers are helped to gain access and to undertake their duties. Appropriate training will be provided to those employees and members of staff who request it.

Disability Policy

Hamilton Academical Football Club is committed to ensuring that our disabled supporters and customers have full access to all goods, services and facilities provided or offered to the public by the club.


To avoid the use of turnstiles at New Douglas Park (ZLX Stadium) wheelchairs with carers, motability scooters and ambulant persons can gain access via the following gates:-

Home and neutral supporters can enter via front door, take the lift to the first floor, then enter the main stand where the designated seats are on the front left side of the main stand. There are 11 groups of two seats with wheelchair spaces as required. This provides an elevated view; alternatively persons can enter via the exit gate adjacent to turnstiles 4-6, and can watch from trackside, ground level, where there is space to park or watch from motability scooters for example.

Away supporters can enter via the exit gate adjacent to turnstile 12. Those ambulant can use the stairs to enter the North Stand, or those in wheelchairs can use the spaces behind the goal, at ground level trackside. There is cover here in the event of particularly inclement weather, but additional space can be allocated in the front of the East Stand, if not in use, (also ground level, but a normal pitch side view as opposed to behind the goal).

Stewards are always on hand to assist where required.

There is a designated Refuge Point in the first floor landing area, opposite the lift, beside the main staircase, in the event of an emergency. The sign is also in braille.

Accessible seats are available in all stands for ambulant disabled.

Disabled Toilets

In the Main (West) Stand there are four (4) disabled toilets located as follows – one at the south end of the main stand beside turnstiles 1-3; one at the north end of the main stand beside turnstiles 4-6; one on the ground floor of the main stand, close to the main reception, in the players’ lounge / media room corridor; one on the first floor of the main stand adjacent to the lift. Away supporters can use the disabled toilet beside turnstiles 4-6.

There will also be a portable Wheelchair User toilet available at the North Stand.



Parking is available at the main stand car park, at the north end, or in the underground car park below Morrison’s, beside turnstiles 10-12. Arrangements to specifically drop any spectators off at front door area can be accommodated if requested / required.

We have designated 5 accessible car park bays for away supporters these are located in the North Stand car park and accessible through turnstiles 7-12.

Admission Charges

Home supporters can buy a discounted season ticket (valid for all home league games only).

General Match day admission, all disabled / ambulant supporters come with a carer ticket, if required, free of charge. Tickets should be reserved in advance, and collected / paid at the ticket office on match day.

Contact 01698 368650 or e mail: gillian@acciesfc.co.uk ideally by Friday lunchtime prior to a weekend fixture. All ticket (or likely sell out) fixtures are different and requests should be made 14 days in advance of game at latest. Away supporters should contact their own club who will then notify us. Please note – depending on the fixture, part of the disabled seating area in the main stand may also be given over to away supporters depending on segregation requirements.

Customer Care

Our staff, stewards and all match day personnel are tasked with ensuring that disabled supporters and customers are at all times treated with due patience, politeness, courtesy and practical assistance. The club’s Disability Access Officer is based at ticket office on a match day.

The club, its employees and stewards shall not discriminate between people with differing impairments.

Hamilton Academical Football Club is aware that any incidents of discrimination under the provisions of The Equality Act 2010 are serious matters, which could lead to appropriate disciplinary action being initiated.

Any grievance relating to the provisions of the Equality Act 2010 will be dealt with promptly by a senior member of staff. Please in the first instance contact TheStadium Manager at HAFC.

Audio Descriptive Commentary

With the new season now underway, we would like to remind supporters of our audio descriptive commentary service available upon request for all home matches. 

This service is completely free of charge and can be requested by contacting office@acciesfc.co.uk. Requests should be made at least 24 hours before kick-off to allow us to allocate an adequate number of headsets. 

Once you have made your request for this service you will receive a confirmation email from the club with details on how to collect and return the headset on the day of the match. 

  • All match tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. The purchase of a match ticket shall constitute acceptance by the ticket holder of these Terms and Conditions. A breach of these Terms and Conditions shall render the ticket void and all rights conferred or evidenced by it shall be nullified.

  • A match ticket gives you access to the match purchased. The club reserves the right to change its advertised fixtures without notice or without liability. Play cannot be guaranteed to take place on a particular date at any time.
  • Match tickets and any digital passes remain the property of Hamilton Academical FC and its use is subject to compliance with the terms and conditions of use.
  • Each match ticket/digital pass is valid for the advertised match date or any date to which a match is re-scheduled. In the event be a match is abandoned or postponed, no entitlements to refund shall be authorised.  
  • Concession tickets are available to persons aged over 65, under 18 and under 16. A person’s age on the date of purchase will determine the category of pass/ticket. Proof of age will be required and must be provided upon request.
  • The Club reserves the right to re-locate reserved seats for safety or segregation reasons. The club cannot guarantee your seat will not be affected by adverse weather conditions.
  • The Club reserves the right to re-locate reserved seats in line with the covid-19 government restrictions. The club cannot guarantee you will sit in the seat you reserve due to social distancing requirements.
  • Ticket Holders are not permitted to exit and re-enter the event, except in the case of an emergency. Patrons must inform a steward in order to ensure controlled and secure egress and access.
  • If you cannot attend a match in person due to the covid-19 pandemic, your ticket will remain non-refundable. 
  • Match attendees are subject to ground regulations which are displayed in the Stadium and copies of which are available on request.
  • The Club has a strict behavioural policy. Racial and sectarian abuse will not be tolerated at any time. Repeated use of foul or abusive language will be regarded as verbal assault and offenders will be ejected from the Stadium without refund or compensation.
  • Entry to the ground is conditional upon ticket holders consent to being searched on entering the stadium and to the confiscation of prohibited items in terms of the ground regulations. Hamilton Academical FC reserves the right in its sole discretion, to refuse admission to the ticket holder to the event or any part of the event, to remove the ticket holder from the event or to direct the ticket holder to another part of the event.
  • Standing is forbidden in seated viewing areas.
  • Entry into the event will be authorised on a event day only upon the presentation of a valid ticket by each ticket holder seeking to gain entrance. Individuals who have been banned from attending events by competent authorities or sports governing bodies in any jurisdiction, or who are considered as a security risk, are prohibited from entering or remaining in the event. On entering the events, the ticket holder agrees to abide by event regulations at all times.  


  • Whilst in possession of a prohibited container which is or was capable of holding liquid and which if thrown would be capable of causing injury to another person 
  • Whilst in possession of alcohol 
  • Whilst drunk 
  • Whilst in possession of any article or substance whose main purpose is the emission of a flare for purposes of illuminating or signalling of the emission of smoke or visible gas 
  • Whilst in possession of a firework 
  • Match attendees are subject to ground regulations which are displayed in the Stadium and copies of which are available on request. 
  • Hamilton Academical FC, its servants or agents shall have no liability for loss injury or damage to the ticket holder, or his/her property while in the events or any part thereof on entering or leaving the events, whether caused by negligence or breach of contract of the Hamilton Academical FC or any of its servants or agents or otherwise. 
  • Any photograph, image, film or recording taken of any performer, participant or any member of any team may not be reproduced for any commercial purpose, whatsoever, whether for money or otherwise. 
  • All ticket holders acknowledge that photographic images and/or video recordings and/or stills taken from those video recordings may be taken of them and may also be used by Hamilton Academical FC for marketing or promotional purposes. 
  • The purchase of tickets by visiting supporters in areas designated for Hamilton Academical fans is contrary to ground regulations and the Club must stress that away fans found to be in home seated areas will face the risk of being ejected from the stadium, without recompense.
