Our u20s drew 2-2 away to Celtic on Monday night, 12th December, in a match played at Cappielow Park, Greenock.
Goalless at half time, we twice lead in the game, before succumbing to a 90th minute Celtic equaliser.
‘Keeper Darren Jamieson made several good saves throughout and Ronan Hughes made an early goalline clearance. Steven Boyd had a great game, while Craig Watson continued his comeback from nine months out.
We began the second half on top with a Kelly shot blocked then a penalty appeal by Ferguson before Steven Boyd and Ryan Tierney combined well in the 68th minute and set up Lewis Ferguson who fired home from close range to give us the lead. Celtic equalised two minutes later when Luke Donnelly drilled home a low shot from just inside the penalty area. Jamieson did well again before great work by McKirdy and Cunningham released Marc Kelly who did well before shooting home to put us 2-1 up in the 80th minute. Ross Cunningham then crashed a free kick off the bar but Jack Aitchison equalised in the 90th minute, capitalising after our defence failed to clear.
A good and entertaining game, played at a good pace throughout.
