Children’s Charity Football Festival

Saturday 17th December 9am-6pm

We are privileged to be yet again hosting our Children’s Charity Football Festival in aid of one of our charity partners, the Hamilton & District Foodbank (Trussel Trust).

This time last year, our staff and volunteers co-ordinated and supported just over 700 children from teams across Scotland who registered for our event which brought in a staggering 873.50kg of bags filled with non-perishable food items. The Club and the Hamilton District Foodbank were overwhelmed by the generosity and support of the local and wider community.

This year, our first Charity Festival of 2016 was again a roaring success in April and with the support from players, coaches, families, friends and a number of local business our food donations a combined
effort raised 306.80 kg (over 600lbs) in weighted food/household items, which are then distributed among the Hamilton district community directly and under careful planning to those who are in need.

To date with your help and support we have managed to donate a massive ⭐️1,180.30kg… (185.86 stone) AMAZING!⭐️

The Trust have a long and well established relationship with the Hamilton & District Foodbank and we are delighted to be able to continue to support them in this way, giving when we can to help to ensure those families who throughout whatever reason, access the Food Bank within our community. The work of Isobel McPartlin and the team of volunteers is outstanding. Hamilton Academical FC Community Trust is now an official referral agency, allowing us to engage and support directly those who access the number of services and support groups, meaning help is always at hand regardless of when a crisis may arise.

Here are just some of the comments we have received from various teams who have participated in previous Festivals…

“Guys

On behalf of Clyde coaches , parents and the boys thanks for a great day, it was our first taste of a tournament and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The boys loved playing on the pitch and the medal at the end topped the day off so thanks for that. Very well organised and credit to Hamilton for that. Looking forward to the next one.

Well done to Mearns also.

Martin”

“Great weather, cracking facilities and lots of super football also – Brilliant day for boys, coaches and parents alike – thanks to everyone involved today both on and off the park for a fab introduction to festival football
