NUFFIELD HEALTH PARTNERSHIP

We are delighted to have entered a partnership with Nuffield Health in East Kilbride that will see the team complete bespoke rehabilitation and match preparation programmes in their facilities.

Following promotion from League 1 back to the Championship, our players and Medical Team are now faced with the challenge of transitioning from a league with a 90% of matches being played on artificial surfaces to an arguably more physically demanding and competitive league which has a 50% split of Grass and Artificial Surfaces.

Due to the frequent change in surface, the statistics and evidence to date would suggest that there is a risk of up to a 20% increase in injuries, specifically those of a muscular or tissue related nature.

Given our duty of care towards our players, and to mitigate this risk as much as possible, we are delighted to confirm that the Club have now entered into a Partnership with Nuffield Health in East Kilbride which will ensure that our players have now access to the very best leisure facilities 3 days per week to carry out bespoke rehabilitation and match preparation programmes.

The Club are delighted to welcome such a well respected Brand in the Medical, Health & Fitness/Wellbeing industry into our partnership portfolio and we look forward to working closely with Nuffield across the weeks and months of the season ahead.

Gillian Orr, Fitness Manager at Nuffield Health East Kilbride said: “I am delighted to be partnered with Hamilton for the upcoming season and look forward to working closely with the medical team & players in the coming months.

“The origins of Nuffield Health the charity began 60 years ago with a small nursing home in the South East and a focus on providing health and healthcare for the public benefit.

“All our income is invested back into operating and developing our health and wellbeing services and pioneering new models of care and delivery so that more people can benefit.”

Speaking on the partnership, Director Of Football, Gerry Strain said: “As we gear up for our return to the Championship, it is imperative that our focus is on progressing the club as much as we can with the view of achieving SPL status as quickly as possible.

“In order to achieve this, it is vital that we deliver a medical & sport science based infrastructure. Which would be fitting of a club with an SPL status.

“This partnership with Nuffield Health delivers that status and we are proud to be partnered with them for the upcoming season.”
