Apologies in advance for the lengthy post but we are delighted with this today and it was important to Reghan that he made his delight known.
We are thrilled to welcome back to the club the Trust trophy goalscorer Reghan Tumilty.
Reghan has been in negotiations for a few weeks and was delighted to re-sign a contract extension today.
Reghan told us today: ““At this stage of my career, this was a really important decision for me to make – both personally and also for my career as I want to play at the highest level I can.
“The vision of the Club and my direct dealings with Gerry Strain have been really reassuring. The way that the Gaffer has been really honest and open with me regarding my career and the development he sees for me, has been reassuring and the way that the Club have treated me, as well as this situation has been really professional and respectful, leading to me signing up for another 2 years today.
“I feel that I have a lot of unfinished business here at Hamilton Accies and my personal ambitions are really in synergy with the Clubs long term vision.
“Our aim this year is to bring success to Hamilton Accies and this is something I want to play my part in, adding to the part of the Clubs history I’ve already contributed to with my winning goal in the SPFL Trust Trophy success.
“Our collective goal is to give the fans something to really cheer and celebrate, and I am wholly committed to doing all I can to play my part in that chapter of our Clubs history.
“I look forward to seeing you all backing the team next season.”
Gerry Strain, who negotiated the terms, said: “Having sat down with John Rankin and Darian McKinnon in May, it was clear that Reghan was a player they were keen to retain at the Club as he’s genuine proven quality and was also a key part of their restructuring plans. The negotiations with Reghan have been lengthy, but always honest, transparent and respectful. We’re genuinely delighted that he’s committed to giving our Club these next few important years of his career and we’re delighted that another part of the team we’ve visioned is now in place.”
Huge thanks must also go to Reghan’s agent, Des McKeown for his honesty and commitment to working with us and for assisting us in getting this deal concluded.
