u20s draw

Our development league side drew 3-3 at St Mirren on Tuesday afternoon (21st November) in an incredible game in which all the goals came in the final half hour, and we came from a goal behind, to lead 3-1, before losing two late goals.

Not a lot happened in the early stages at Renfrew’s New Western Park, in the incessant rain, but MacPherson gave saints the lead on the hour mark. Within 40 seconds we had equalised when Steven Boyd’s shot came down off the bar and Lewis Ferguson headed in from a yard out. Ross Cunningham gave us the lead with a rasper of a 22 yard drive in the 65th minute then banged home a penalty, after Tierney was tripped, in the 69th minute for us to lead 3-1, with all four goals coming in a nine minute spell.

However saints levelled through McDonald in the 83rd minute and Jamieson, rounding his namesake, a minute later.

Shaun Want made his comeback from being out for a couple of months, while Grant Gillespie got another valuable 90 minutes under his belt after his lay off.

Accies – Jamieson, J Boyd, Quitongo, Want (c) (Douglas 70), Wilson, Gillespie, Cunningham, Ferguson (Breen 76), Tierney, S Boyd, Kelly  (L Smith 63).  Unused subs O’Halloran, Joseph, Slaven, Marshall
