Following emails of complaint from a few Hamilton Academical supporters, some talk on internet forums and speaking with Sean McHugh the club SLO. The club have released a statement in response.
The club has received a few emails of complaint regarding opposing supporters gaining access to the home section on Friday 8th September. The club will be having a meeting with our stewarding company on Friday to discuss what is expected from the stewards on behalf of our club. We will also be in talks with the police about this matter. We agree that fans from the opposition side wearing colours should not/ will not be allowed into the home section.
As you will agree it is hard for our ticket office staff to identify opposing supporting fans coming into the club and buying tickets wearing their normal clothes. We did have our tickets on sale at the first league home match of the season against Dundee on the 12th August 2017 for both Celtic and Rangers matches in hope that Hamilton fans would have plenty of time to purchase their ticket if they are not a season ticket holder to try and prevent this from happening.
We have also had a few complaints from season ticket holders not being able to sit on their seat that they have bought for ALL games because of fans sitting in the seats and refusing to move. The club released a statement before the match asking fans to respect fellow fans regarding this matter. With the Rangers match coming up in a few weeks’ time once again we are asking fans to please respect our season ticket holders that have purchased their seat. We will be asking our stewards and police to put a plan in place so this does not happen.
As always thank you for your support.
