The club are thrilled to announce the signing of midfielder Regan Thomson on a free transfer.
The midfielder began his career with Queen’s Park, here he quickly rose through the ranks and made his debut aged just 16.
Shortly after this, following high levels of interest, a move to Newcastle followed. Here he made appearances for the club’s U18 & U23 sides during his two-and-a-half year stay with the Toon.
Speaking after signing his Accies contract, Thomson said: “I am buzzing to be back home and signing for this great club. Everyone in Scotland knows what this club can do for young players and that’s why I am here.
“I know the gaffer believes strongly in developing players with his background and after speaking with him I knew this was the right place for me.”
Head Coach John Rankin said: “Regan is a player I have watched closely for several years. He turned a lot of heads when he burst on to the scene at such a young age and his qualities are there for all to see.
“For me, he is one for the future. We want to give him that pathway to continue his development. He will be working as part of a strong group of midfielders we have here. I think that challenge every day in training is one which will benefit him greatly.”
The midfielder will now begin an intense training regime to prepare him for the season ahead.
Thomson will wear the number 21 shirt.
