The club are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Jamie Smith has signed a two-year contract extension.
The 19-year-old has made one first team appearance at the end of last season and has featured in several matchday squads during the current campaign.
Speaking to the club’s website Smith said: “I am delighted to have signed the contract. This has something which has been on going for a while. Now I have that secured it’s all about doing well in training, getting my chance and kicking on.”
Head Coach Stuart Taylor paid credit to the shot-stopper.
He said: “I am delighted to have Jamie’s future at the club secured. He has worked as part of a very strong group of goalkeepers led by our Goalkeeping Coach Brian Potter and I think that has undoubtedly helped him.
“He approaches every training session with a fantastic intensity and desire to improve which is a credit to him. Since I joined the club he has shown a fantastic attitude which epitomises this club’s academy and I look forward to working with him in the future.”
