Academy graduate Kyle Munro has revealed he is desperate for the opportunity to play in front of the Accies support in the season ahead.
The versatile winger became an important part of the squad last season and as we prepare for our return to competitive action Munro is eager to get up and running.
Speaking ahead of our match with Edinburgh City, the 19-year-old said: “I haven’t experienced playing in front of Accies fans yet, this will be a new experience for me, but it is one which I am really looking forward to.
“I had experience playing in the reserves where there are no fans and it was similar to that last season but obviously now, I am desperate to play with fans in the stadium.
“The fans are brilliant; I think you can see we all missed them at times last season but that first game when fans are back will feel like a massive step back to normality and I am really looking forward to it.”
Looking ahead to our Premier Sports Cup group stage matches the 19-year-old believes this serves as an opportunity to build momentum heading into the league campaign.
He said: “It’s a very tough group for us, I think every team involved brings a different challenge but that is something which we are looking forward to.
“I think if we put some good performances together in these games it gives us the chance to build a bit of momentum going into the league season.”
Munro believes these fixtures serve as an opportunity for players to play their way into the first team with the opening match of the league campaign just around the corner.
He said: “I think we have to focus ourselves on the cup first. We have an opportunity to impress the coaches before the season starts and that could see us in the team.
“I think we have some competition for places which will make us as strong as we possibly can be for that first game in the league.”
