Versatile midfielder Hakeem Odoffin has insisted he is determined to build on a promising first season with the club.
The former Livingston man, who quickly became a fans favourite after a series of impressive performances in an Accies shirt, has been revealed he has been working with the club’s coaches on improving his game.
Speaking to the club’s website, he said: “I loved my time at the club last season. I had the challenge of learning a new position and that was one I enjoyed, now I think I want to keep improving as a player.
“Since we have been back, I have had a couple of conversations with the coaches to see where they think I can improve. The time off gave me an opportunity to reflect on my first season here and look at where I want to improve.”
Odoffin admitted the potential return of fans to stands this year has made himself and the rest of the squad ever more determined during pre-season.
He said: “The fans have been fantastic with me since I have joined, I don’t think playing without fans is the same, I am not sure about when they will officially be back, but it has definitely been motivating to make sure we are ready for when they are allowed back in.”
With exactly a week until our return to competitive action the midfield powerhouse has called on the side to carry the intensity in training throughout the season.
He said: “Pre-season with the lads has been great we have set a high standard during the last two weeks. The gaffer made it clear from the first session that he wants us ready for the cup and that standard we have started is something we want to keep going throughout the season.”
Looking ahead to the campaign the midfielder is pleased for a quick return to competitive action.
He said: “I think we are all desperate to get going, as a squad we believe these matches are a chance to get up and running with a strong start. We know it will be a challenging group but we need to be ready to meet that challenge and these weeks give us the opportunity to do that.”
