Brian Rice believes his squad is in a good place mentally as they prepare for the final nine matches of the season.
Speaking ahead of our match with St Johnstone, Rice said:
“We are in a good place and we have been for a while now. I think when you are in a good place you want to get out playing and unfortunately at the weekend we couldn’t.
The Accies Head Coach insists his side will be ready to face for a tough match.
He said: “I have played in teams who have won cups, so I know the effect it has on a squad. We have to focus on how we are going to play. To get the three points we are going to have to put in a strong performance right from the first whistle until the last.
“I don’t think there is much between the two sides so we know it’s going to be a challenge but it is one we look forward to.”
Rice also praised the work rate and versatility defender Hakeem Odoffin has shown since joining the side in the summer.
He said: “He has been brilliant since he came in to the club every day in training, he is the exact same as he is on the pitch. I have asked him to play a couple of different positions and do different jobs which has been a challenge for him.
“It doesn’t matter what position you play him in he will give it all he has got. When you send him out on a match day you know exactly what you are going to get and that is invaluable for me as a coach.”
Rice confirmed the side will be without Greek forward Marios Ogkmpoe and defender Shaun Want for the match.
He said: “Marios picked up a hamstring injury at Hibs and its looking like he will be out until at least the split. Shaun Want has had a reoccurrence of the injury he picked up so he will be out of the squad”
