Ben Stirling has revealed he and his Accies team mates are looking forward to their trip to Edinburgh to face Hibernian at Easter Road.
Speaking exclusively to the club’s website Stirling said: “We are all looking forward to it, we have been on a good run recently, the atmosphere in training has been good and we are all working hard to keep this run going.
“Obviously coming from Hibernian, I am looking forward to going back. If the gaffer gives me the nod I’ll be ready to play my part and hopefully help us get another good result.”
Stirling’s versatility has seen him play in both the Accies defence and midfield during his short time at the club and the 22-year-old is delighted to be playing first team football.
He said: “I am comfortable in both positions so I am not really bothered where I play. I am just delighted to have the opportunity to help the team as much as I can.
“I didn’t get much time in the first team at Hibs so coming here and playing games has been fantastic. It has been a massive learning curve this season but I am hoping to keep playing and getting minutes under my belt.”
Hibernian currently sit third in the Premiership table. However, Stirling believes the Accies side have confidence going into the match.
He said: “Easter Road is always a tough place to go. Hibs are in great form as well but we have a plan on how we want to play. If we can stick to that plan we believe we have the quality to go and get a positive result.”
However, despite the sides recent form Stirling insists the squad remain focused on the next match that comes.
He said: “I think we are quite a humble team. We have always taken each game as it has come and now is no different. It was a good point against St Mirren but there are three more up for grabs tomorrow.”
