Right back Lee Hodson insists he and his Accies teammates have no fear ahead of their visit to Celtic Park on Wednesday.
Speaking ahead of the match, Hodson said: “We don’t fear any team in this league, it doesn’t matter who the opposition is we don’t have any fear of them. I think if we had that fear we would be defeated already.
“Everyone is looking forward to the challenge and playing our game. It’s been a while since we last played so we have rested up and did a lot of good work in training.”
The defender believes it is important that the side use the recent defensive solidity as a basis to build on in the upcoming matches.
He said: “Obviously in training we have been working really hard on our shape and how we want to play. Recently we have been able to pick up clean sheets, it is important that we build on that now.
“We know we can create chances; we know if we keep a clean sheet that gives us the best possible chance to win the match. Therefore, it is important we keep that going into the upcoming fixtures.”
Hodson believes the sides current form should give the squad reason for optimism ahead of the match.
He said: “We are in good bit of form and I think going anywhere we have confidence in our ability. If we keep a clean sheet the opportunities will come its important that we take them.”
The defender revealed he has been working on improving his attacking output during training ahead of the upcoming matches.
He said: “I’d like to add more goals to my game, get more crosses in. That is something I am working hard on in training.
“I am always analysing my game to see where I can improve. It is something I have always been looking to do, I don’t think you are ever too old to learn in football.”
Hodson believes with no fans allowed in stadiums it is important now more than ever to give everything you have as a footballer.
He said: “The main thing for me is doing as well as I can for the club, the badge and the fans. Hopefully doing this we are able to pick up results along the way.”
