Alex Gogić: ‘We will appreciate everything more after this’

With the current coronavirus crisis, Alex Gogić believes we will all come away stronger and appreciate everything more.

The Cypriot born  defensive midfielder spent nine months out with a cruciate injury he picked up during  season 2017/18 and he says there’s no comparison to the current situation.

Speaking to the club’s website, he said: “It’s very difficult for everyone in all walks of life at the moment. For me it’s strange not waking up and going to training, but I’ve now replaced that with a run in the morning.

“When I was out for a long period of time with my cruciate, that was really hard for me , however, I was still at training and got to see the lads everyday and socialise with them to feel somewhat still involved, whereas that’s not possible at the moment and we’ve all got to accept that.

“It’s a difficult period we’re currently living in and the important thing is we come out of it stronger and appreciate everything more after this.

“I keep in contact with the squad, Ciaran McKenna’s birthday was the other day so everyone still wished him Happy Birthday on the chat, whereas normally we would be eating Krispy Kreme donuts he would’ve had to have brought in that day since it was his birthday.”

He added: “I believe if we all follow the information and guidelines we’re given then we will surely beat this virus.”
