Departure of several players

Hamilton Accies Football Club have today announced the departure of several players after failed
contract extension talks.
Defenders Matthew Shiels and Reghan Tumilty, who netted the winner in last season’s Trust Trophy
final over Raith Rovers, both of whom were out of contract have decided not to return to our side.
The duo follow centre back Daniel O’Reilly out the door this week, who announced to fans on social
media that he would not be returning to the ZLX Stadium for the new campaign.
Head coach John Rankin is currently working to rebuild his squad for the upcoming 2023/24 season,
which will see Accies compete in the Cinch League One.
Furthermore, the Club can announce that they are still in negotiations with Scott Martin and Regan
Mimnaugh for the new season.
Rankin said: “We wish Reghan, Matthew and Dan all the very best going forward. It‘s unfortunate
that the lads are going but they will take up opportunities elsewhere, and at the end of the day
that’s football.”
They are the latest players to depart the side with Lucas De Bolle, Dylan Stephenson, Tom Sparrow,
Jean Pierre Tiehi, Dylan McGowan and Connor Smith all returning to their parent clubs and Benny-
Ashley Seal, Michael Doyle, Myles Gaffney, Steve Lawson, Adam McGowan and Jonny Ngandu all
released at the end of the season.
