Further to publication in The Gazette and recent local media, a winding up petition has been lodged against 1874 Holdings Limited, the club’s ownership company. The petition has been presented by Zenith Legal Services Group Limited, a company incorporated in December 2025.
Zenith Legal Services Group Limited claims to be the assignee of sums allegedly sought by Document Solutions (Scotland) Limited, of which former Hamilton Academical Director of Football Gerry Strain, is a director and shareholder.
1874 Holdings Limited has consistently and categorically disputed this claim and has been in discussion with its lawyers over recent days to deal with the necessary requirements to lodge Answers and seek dismissal of the petition. A winding up petition is not the appropriate forum for a dispute.
