Hamilton are back on the road this weekend as they travel up north to take on Peterhead at Balmoor Stadium.
Hamilton will look to build on an impressive win in the Challenge Cup last weekend in the South Lanarkshire derby against East Kilbride. The game saw goals from Kevin O’Hara, Oli Shaw, and Stuart McKinstry as Accies ran out 2-4 winners at the Ross Commercial Stadium.
Our hosts also come into this one full of confidence after they beat Dundee United B 3-0 at Balmoor Stadium seven days ago.
Speaking ahead of the match, John Rankin said: “It’s a tough fixture, I don’t think there’s an easy game in this league and at the beginning of the season I said it was gonna be hard but if we get the same aggression and intensity that we played with last weekend it’ll stand us in good stead. I hope the supporters travel in numbers, we know it’s a big distance and it’ll be a tough away day but it’s one that we haven’t been to before and one that we’re looking forward to.”
Kevin O’Hara added: “I think that last weekend’s game has given a lot of boys confidence that what we’re trying to do is right and you can see it’s working and especially with the pace we have in forward areas.”
Saturday’s game marks the first time that the two sides will meet since 2001 where the hosts ran out 2-1 winners.
