Hamilton Academical Football Club is pleased to confirm that following the settlement of all outstanding historical HMRC liabilities, with receipt confirmed by HMRC, the winding-up petition against the club will now be formally withdrawn
The challenges faced by the club in recent years have been well documented, but this marks another significant step forward as we continue to strengthen the foundations required to secure a stable and successful future for Hamilton Accies.
The club would once again like to place on record its sincere thanks to the SPFL for its continued support, engagement and cooperation as we worked through the existing legacy issues.
Speaking on the latest development, Rob Edwards said:
“I am delighted that what was our last major hurdle has finally been overcome, allowing us to focus fully on the future of Hamilton Academical Football Club.
Since the takeover in January, the support shown by our fans has been nothing short of outstanding, and I would like to personally thank everyone who has stood by the club during what has been a difficult period.
With our return to New Douglas Park on the horizon, season tickets now on sale, and work already well underway to build a competitive squad for the season ahead, we believe the club is now in a much stronger position to move forward positively and build something truly special.
League One will once again present a tough challenge, and we will need everyone pulling together. We need your support, we need you back at New Douglas Park, and we need you right behind Darian and the players throughout the campaign ahead.”
