FT HAMILTON ACADEMICAL FC 0-3 LIVINGSTON FC

After a hard fought 0-0 draw with Queen’s Park last weekend, Hamilton came into the
penultimate match of the season looking to return to winning ways and finish the campaign
strongly.

John Rankin made two changes to his Accies XI for this afternoon’s match as Lamie and
Hendrie replaced the injured Tumilty and Telfer.

As for our visitors, they opted for the same side that beat Ayr United 5-0 Last Friday.

KICK-OFF

Hamilton started the game positively and had the first look at goal early on through Kyle
MacDonald who shot from long range, producing a save from Prior.

Moments later Accies had another chance to take the lead as the ball fell to Scott Roobinson
inside the box, unfortunately the midfielder’s chipped effort spiralled just over the bar and onto
the top of the Livingston net.

In the 19th minute Accies threatened to go ahead again as Nikolay Todorov found space in the
box to latch on a fantastic cross, his headed effort flew narrowly past the post.

Against the run of play, in the 26th minute Livingston were awarded a penalty. Lewis Smith
latched onto a ball in behind and knocked it past Lyness who was deemed to have fouled the
winger. Robbie Muirhead stepped up for The Lions and dispatched his penalty into the bottom
corner to give the visitors the lead.

10 minutes later Livingston doubled their lead through Muirhead who tapped in from close range
to score his second of the afternoon.

After a disappointing first half, Hamilton went into the break with work to do.

SECOND HALF

Livingston started the second half as they finished the first by adding a third goal. A great cross
by Lewis Smith found Tete Yengi who headed in from a tight angle to make it 0-3.

On the hour mark Livingston came close to making it 0-4 as Stevie May found himself
one-on-one with Lyness however he was denied by a phenomenal save from the Accies
goalkeeper.

As the game drew to a close McGowan had the ball in the net for Accies, unfortunately it
wouldn’t count as the referee gave a foul for a challenge in the build-up.

A frustrating afternoon for Hamilton saw Livingston take the points.
