Central defender Brian Easton believes Accies have a fantastic opportunity to build on the positives after their 1-1 draw with Aberdeen.
Easton said: “In the last two games there has been a lot of encouragement, we have been a lot more solid, especially tonight.
“Even when we conceded, in the past we have collapsed, here we regrouped and got what we deserved. We need to do that more so there definitely is a lot to build on.”
The experienced defender insisted all credit for the Accies performance must go to Head Coach Brian Rice.
Easton said: “We owed that performance to the gaffer, he is the hardest working coach I have ever worked with, so for the work he and his staff put in we owed him that.
“It has been a difficult couple of months, we all know the performances haven’t been good enough and we have to take responsibility for that as players. The gaffer has been fantastic at taking the criticism for us so now he should take the plaudits.”
Despite a fantastic Joe Lewis save denying Accies all three points Easton has refused to get too downhearted.
He said: “We were very close to getting the three points but that doesn’t take away from the performance. We got a point on the board and the mood around the place has changed massively.”
Easton called on his Accies team-mates to use the next two home fixtures to build momentum to climb the table.
He said: “December is a massive month, looking at our fixtures we have alot of home games, these are a massive opportunity. It all starts with Kilmarnock, we have to kick on from here to have momentum going into these games.”
