Hamilton Academical Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of 21-year-old winger Idris Munir on an amateur contract for the 2025/26 season.
The Nigerian born attacker spent last season with Drumchapel United, winning their Young Player Of The Year award.
The Nigerian U23 international has 49 appearances in the Nigerian Professional Football League, scoring 11 goals and registering 4 assists.
On the signing, John Rankin said: “Idris has been a part of our preseason since we first returned from the summer. Daz seen a lot of him working with Drumchapel United last year, he’s came in and done well. It’s a big jump for him coming into this environment, but with patience and guidance alongside the boys we have here will certainly help his development.”
New signing Idris spoke exclusively to AcciesTV: “I’ve been in the country for a few years and the opportunity to make this next stage in my development was one I couldn’t turn down. I worked with Daz last year at Drumchapel so I know the standards that he sets.
“I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
