Hamilton Academical Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of 23-year-old defender Cale Loughrey on an amateur contract for the 2025/26 season.
The Canadian born centre-back has been in with the club for pre-season following his departure from Romanian second tier side, Corvinus Hunedoara.
Standing at 6 feet 2 inches tall, Cale offers another physical presence in defence as he embarks on his first outing into Scottish football.
On the signing, John Rankin said: “It’s great to get Cale into the squad for the start of the league campaign. He’s impressed us in the short time he’s been here and has a desire to play and improve”
“Moving to a new country can’t be easy, but he’s put the work in over the last few weeks and I’m looking forward to getting him involved in games this season.”
New signing Cale spoke exclusively to AcciesTV: “I’m delighted to sign here for Hamilton Accies. Preseason has been tough, the gaffer has been challenging us from day one but it’s been a great experience so far and I’m looking forward to getting started in the league this weekend.”
