TONY GALLACHER JOINS HAMILTON ACCIES

Hamilton Academical Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Tony Gallacher until the end of the 25/26 season.

The 25-year-old defender, who came through the Forth Valley Football Academy, made his professional debut at 16-years-old in the Scottish Cup before going on to make 17 appearances for the Falkirk FC first team. In 2018, he made the move to Liverpool where he featured primarily in the Liverpool U23’s and Premier League 2.

Following a short stint in Canada with Toronto FC, he returned to Scotland where most recently he played for St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.

On joining the club, Tony Gallacher said: “It feels great to get the deal over the line. I’ve been here training with the boys for a decent amount of time and after speaking to the manager we’ve managed to get it over the line.”

“I want to get as many games as I can and help the team as best they can in the league.”

On his latest signing, John Rankin said: “I’m delighted that we’ve managed to get a deal for Tony over the line. He’s been in training for a while now and he’s integrated really well with the squad. He gives us some more depth in that defensive area also where we’ve been struggling with injuries as of late.

“He works hard, he’s not afraid to put his body on the line for the team and he’s another big voice in the dressing room.”
