Hamilton are back on the road this Saturday as they take on Queen of the South at Palmerston park.
Goals from Oli Shaw and Trialist A saw Accies start their League One campaign excellently with a 2-0 win over Montrose at Broadwood last weekend.
Oli Shaw speaking ahead of the match said: “Obviously we know it’ll be a tough ask each week in this league but we’ve got one goal and that’s to win this league, we’ve got enough in the dressing room to do that.”
John Rankin added: “It’ll come with time and obviously relationships when they get built, we’ll begin to learn one another’s strengths, it’s been a long pre season with different things moving on. It’s been a turbulent seven days, but the players have remained focused throughout.”
Our hosts also come into matchday two with an opening day victory as they beat Cove Rangers 2-0 away from home with goals coming from Kurtis Guthrie and then Kai Kennedy late on. The two sides met most recently in March 2024 at New Douglas Park, the match ended in a 0-0 draw on that occasion, however, historically Hamilton have dominated in this fixture winning 23 of 43 competitive matches between the two clubs.
