It’s a home fixture at New Douglas Park for Stuart Taylor and his side as we face Arbroath tomorrow in the cinch Championship. Kick-off 3pm.
SQUAD UPDATE
Taylor said: “Ronan Hughes will likely miss out this weekend’s game after injuring his hamstring in training earlier this week. Kieran MacDonald also received treatment over the weekend after taking a bad knock to his leg against Ayr but has returned to training.
“Marley is still out but improving and has been working on his upper body strength so he’s still making progress while resting his leg” and Taylor noted “it’s important that we let him fully heal from this injury.”
LAST TIME OUT
Last time the two sides met was an eventful 2-2 draw with goals from Daniel O’Reilly and Andy Ryan securing the point.
FORM
Following the recent draws with Arbroath, Stuart Taylor’s side are looking to bag the three points this time round.
He said: “We know it’s going to be a real battle but we’ve got to make sure we go and match those battling qualities which we’ve done in the last couple of games.”
With striker Andy Winter in fantastic form, scoring three goals in his last three matches, Taylor revealed his quality in training is showing on the pitch.
“I think he’s (Winter) hitting form at the right time but I don’t think he’s a ‘new hero’. We have known the quality Andy has for a while now. I have said it before but we believe he is one of the best finishers at the club and we’ve always known what he is capable of.”
MANAGER’S NOTES
Speaking ahead of the game Taylor said: “The squad is in a really great place. Confidence is high but there is a hunger and desire behind that. We want to use this to end the season as strongly as we can. To do that we want to pick up as many points as possible and that starts with Saturday.”
