On December 9, our Supporter’s Liaison Officer Sean McHugh sent a letter addressed to our Chief Executive with regards to the “Current atmosphere and discontent amongst our support.”
Our chief executive has attached his response below.
“Sean McHugh, Supporter Liaison Officer, has contacted the club on your behalf to advise of a misconception emerging within a small minority of our supporters. The misconception being that Hamilton Academical FC is moving away from football and into charity work. It has been requested that the club’s response be issued via our official website and social media channels.”
“Let me commence therefore by being both open and transparent and to confirm that this misconception could not be further from the truth. The fact is, charity work within the club also benefits the football club in its entirety; taking in all differing fields to provide vital help to the local community and I will explain the background to this later in my reply.”
