Hamilton Academical Football Club are delighted to announce that Kyle Macdonald has signed a contract extension that will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Kyle joined us in the summer of 2023/24, and played a crucial role in our promotion campaign that saw us back to the Championship at the first time of asking. He featured in 34 matches across all competitions last year scoring 7 goals, including a double in our SPFL Trust Trophy match v East Kilbride.
On signing his new deal, Kyle said: “I’m delighted to sign a new deal with the club. I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far, it’s a great group and one I’m looking forward to being part of for the next few years.”
“I’ve had some injury issues so far this season which has meant that I’ve not been able to play as consistently as I would like but I’m back fit now and looking to kick on.”
John Rankin said: “It’s great to have Kyle signed on for another few years. He was a big part of our squad last year and he’ll be a big part moving forward.”
“Injuries have hampered him this season but he’s been working hard to get back to full fitness and once he does he’ll be a big player for us.”
