Members of Hamilton Men’s Shed have officially opened their new community garden at Hamilton Accies ZLX Stadium.
The men have been working tirelessly to transform a previously unused area within the grounds of the football club.
Now the space is kitted out with benches, tables, plants, flowers, fruit trees, plaques and ornaments – all courtesy of the work of the men’s shed.
And they are encouraging the local community to pop along and use the space, when it opens to the public every Sunday from 11am to 2pm.
The Men’s Shed have been based at Hamilton Accies for the last seven years, transforming the area behind the football pitch into a fabulous space, regularly used by the community as well as local schools, charities and nurseries.
Hamilton Accies commercial director, Colin McGowan cut the ribbon along with Men’s Shed members David White and David Logan, said: “We are delighted to welcome everyone here today for the official opening of this fabulous new garden.
“On behalf of everyone at Hamilton Accies Football Club we would like to thank you for the incredible work you have carried out here over the last seven years. The place looks fantastic and we cannot wait to welcome the community along to see the fruits of your labour.”
