Easter Camp

Over 50 Lanarkshire children donned their sportswear and participated in Hamilton Accies annual
Easter football camp.
Taking place at the ZLX Stadium, the youngsters were put through their paces by professional
football coaches over the two-week Easter holiday break.
As well as enjoying coaching and football games daily, the youngsters dined in the function suite
every day at lunchtime and had the pleasure of meeting the Hamilton Accies first and youth teams,
who were more than happy to pose for photographs and sign autographs for the children.
At the end of each week the youngsters then enjoyed a special presentation ceremony, where they
received a medal, certificate of participation, signed by Accies manager John Rankin and an Easter
egg each, as their parents watched on and clapped from the audience.
Jimmy Thompson, stadium manager, who organised the Easter football camp, said: “It was a busy
fortnight here at Hamilton Accies with over 50 children signing up for our popular football camp
here at the ZLX Stadium.
“The children were all absolutely amazing, with some superb skill on show as they trained on our
seven-a-side and Johan Cruyff pitches, but the icing on the cake was when they had the chance to
play a game and take a penalty on the Accies pitch. It’s safe to say there was some delighted young
faces out there.
“Thank you to all of the children for taking part and for their brilliant behaviour over the fortnight.”
