Hamilton Academical Football Club are delighted to announce that Cian Newbury has signed a contract extension that will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2027/28 season.
Cian joined the club at the age of 10, working his way through the Academy until he made his debut in the League Cup against Stranraer in a 5-2 win. Cian has also twice represented the club in the UEFA Youth League.
This season, despite some injury set backs Cian has made 22 appearances across the league and KDM Trophy where he also captained the side on his return from injury.
On signing his new deal, Cian said: “I’m delighted to sign a new deal with the club. I’ve been here since I was 10, so to extend my stay and continue to represent the club means a lot to me.
“This season has been tough for everyone, add in some injuries but I’ve been feeling good the last few weeks and now our aim is to push on again next season.”
Darian MacKinnon said: “It’s great to have Cian signed on for another few years. He’s been a big part of our squad lin the latter part of the season and he’ll only continue to improve.”
